First: use adhesive corners
If you want your album to age well, our recommendation is very clear: always use adhesive corners for photographs.
Years ago, it was common to use glue sticks or adhesive rollers. We don't recommend them.
Why?
Because over the years many adhesives dry out, lose adhesion and can even damage the album pages.
The adhesive corners are specifically designed for this type of project. They are placed on the four corners of the photograph and then attached to the album page, without applying glue directly to the image.
It's a much cleaner, safer, and more respectful solution for your memories.
Our best advice before you begin
There is a mistake that we see all the time.
Many people start pasting photographs as soon as they receive them printed.
Don't do it. First, place all the photographs on the page without gluing them.
Move them around. Try different combinations. See how the set looks.
Only attach the adhesive corners once you have a clear design.
Although they can be removed carefully, there's always a risk of damaging the photograph or paper. It's worth taking a few minutes to plan your composition before gluing anything.
The question you should be asking yourself is not "what size photo should I print?"
This is probably the most important idea in the whole article.

"Should I print the photographs in 10x15, 13x18 or 15x20?"
Our answer is always the same:
First decide which album you want.
There is no perfect photo size.
There is a suitable photo size for every album.
The album format will determine the size of the images and the type of composition you can create.
Square album or landscape album?
If you have many horizontal photographs, a landscape album is usually the most convenient option.
On the other hand, if you're going to combine vertical and horizontal photos or want to make more creative compositions, a square album offers much more freedom.
There isn't one option that's better than another. It all depends on how you want to tell your story.
Photographs need to breathe
One of the most common mistakes is trying to fill the entire page.
Our advice is exactly the opposite.
Always leave a white margin around the photographs.
That space makes each image stand out much more, adds elegance to the whole, and achieves a much cleaner result.
He believes that the protagonist should be the memory, not a page saturated with photographs.
If you prefer one large photograph per page
Some couples are looking for a very clean design.
A large photograph on the left page and another on the right.
If, for example, you have chosen an album of 35 × 25 cm, a photograph of approximately 30 × 20 cm usually looks very good, always leaving a small white margin around it.
The result is elegant, timeless, and very easy to enjoy when you reopen the album years later.
If you prefer to make a collage
There are also those who enjoy including more details on each page.
At La Broderie we really like a very simple composition:
- Right page: a large, prominent photograph.
- Left page: two, three or four photographs that complete the story.
You can combine vertical and horizontal images, but make sure there's always space between them. You don't need to use every last inch of the paper.
How many photographs fit in an album?
There is no exact figure.
It will depend on the size of the album, the number of pages, and the style you want to achieve.
At La Broderie we work with albums from:
- 30 leaves, which are equivalent to 60 pages.
- 40 leaves, which are equivalent to 80 pages.
- 50 leaves, which are equivalent to 100 pages.
It is important to remember that a sheet of paper has two sides.
If you have a lot of photos, don't try to fit them all into a single album.
